The Cochin College of Engineering (CCET),Valanchery is organizing a Mega Job mela at college campus, on 28th July.Over 15 companies will participate, where there are more than 1,000 job openings. The companies will conduct personal interviews for the selection of candidates.
Date: 29-03-2016 & 30-03-2016 A two day residential training program was arranged by college management of Cochin College of Engineering and Technology, Valanchery in the college library. 48 students of S6 EEE participated in the training program. A team of four expert trainers helped our students to identify their potential and to guide them in the right track. Our management, Principal Mr. Jimry Henry, EEE HoD and all other staffs offered their support for the training.
The motivational training gave them a chance to realize the importance of value oriented education and the commitment which they should have towards their parents, teachers and college. The two day program was divided into various sessions which made the students think about themselves through different brain storming activities. The life of eminent personalities and how they faced various hurdles in front of them were presented before the students in an impressive manner.
The activities helped the students to think out of the box and it provided them a chance to show out their hidden ideas. None but all the students were actively involved throughout all the sessions. Students were divided into groups to make them perform skits and other group activities to develop their team spirit and cooperation. Public speaking practice session was also provided. To improve their self confidence and to prove that “Nothing is impossible”, they were made to walk on a bed of broken glasses which was a really easy task under the guidance of the experienced trainers. They were also taught the importance of organizing one’s mind and a small meditation exercise was taught to them. It was a real worthy training program in all views. The first day session was over by 9.45 p.m. The program ended up with students experience sharing, thanksgiving by trainers, students and staff on the second day at 4.00 p.m.
Date: 11-02-2016 The Electrical and Electronics department inaugurated the technical club named ELECTRA. The program was presided over by department HOD Vipin Krishnan C. V. The official inauguration was done by Dean academics and Principal in charge, Mr. Jimry Henry. The presidential address was given by Mr. Jithesh P.,the secretary ESCON. The major highlight of the event was the Logo launch, Magazine cover release and Recycled product launch which was carried out by Dean academics Jimry Henry. The Dean really appreciated the efforts of students who actively involved in the product designing and motivated their efforts. He stressed the importance of thinking out of the box in this competitive techno-world. The ESCON Excellency Award was given to academically brilliant students by the HOD. The vote of Thanks was delivered by Sarath , student of s8 EEE.

A technical workshop on “Advanced Structural Analysis” was conducted on 05.02.2016 at CSE lab in
Cochin College of Engineering and Technology, Valanchery by Mr. Akhil M.M., Assistant Engineer,
Cochin Refinery, Kerala from 9.00am to 4.30pm. The workshop was attended by 59 sixth semester
students of Civil department.
The workshop was on the software ANSYS and was conducted in two sections. In the morning session an example to analyse the cantilever beam by ANSYS mechanical APDL was demonstrated. It gave a clear idea about how to analyse a cantilever beam using ANSYS mechanical APDL. The session was very informative for both students and faculties.
The afternoon session began at 2.00 pm where the topic of discussion was on the analysis of solid beam with four reinforcement bars with stirrups using ANSYS WORK BENCH . It was really an informative and knowledge imparting session.
The program concluded at 4.15 pm with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Akhil, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. Memento was handed over to guest by Mr.Shamnas, Principal incharge and certificates were given to all students participated in this workshop.
Date: 04-02-2016 The Computer Science Engineering Department of CCET In Association With CSE Association (Inceptra) Inaugurated CSI Student Branch on 4th February 2016 .Cheif guest Dr. M.V Rajesh (Vice Chairman CSI-Cochi Chapter) inaugurated the ceremony. Mr. Eldhose P.Sim (Assistant Professor, CSE ) welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Renu S, Head Of Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Cochin College of Engineering & Technology presided over the function and give a brief Introduction for the need of Such Society Branch in engineering Colleges and its Importance.Chieft Guest Dr. MV Rajesh Officially Inaugurated the CSI Student Branch and launched the website for CSI developed by Mr. Hashim K(S8-Computer Science Student) and delivered a Inaugural Speech Based On the” Advantage of CSI Student Branch In Engineering Colleges “ and delivered a wonderful session on “Artificial Neural Network” .Mr. Mohammed Shamnas-HOD of Mechanical Engineering delivered felicitation address. The session Came to end with vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Mohammed Ashique M.A( Student Coordinator-CSI).
Mechanical Department of Cochin College of Engineering & Technology organized the Inaugural Ceremony of IEI Student Chapter.
The student chapter of INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA) [IEI] was inaugurated by IEI Kerala state centre chairman Mr. V. VIJAYAKUMAR in Cochin College of engineering and technology campus on 28-01-2016. The event was conducted by Dept. of mechanical engineering and was presided by college Principal Dr. ALAVIKUNHU PANTHAKKAN. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. MOHAMED SHAMNAZ P T, HOD, and Dept. of mechanical engineering. During the inaugural speech, Mr. VIJAYAKUMAR mentioned the need of such student chapters and other extracurricular activities. He also mentioned the advantages and benefits that students can avail by joining IEI student chapter. Prizes were distributed to the best performing students from each class in mechanical engineering department. Assistant professor Mr. UMANATH P delivered the vote of thanks.

March past was done by students and Indian Flag was hosted by Principal, Dr.Alavi Kunhu Pantakkan and Dean, Mr.Jimry Henry addressed the gathering. Nearby school, Edayur L.P School was visited. Quiz competition, drawing competition were conducted for students.

A mega job fair was conducted on behalf of ministry of labour on 09/01/2016 at govt. victoria college, Palakkad. The job fair was sponsored by GTEC industry and the municipality of Palakkad. Nearly 3500 people participated in it. The job fair actually proclaimed the progressive level of education in Kerala but also the issue of unemployment getting worse. Major companies were TCS, Malabar group, tvs, Shauntec, skypro tech, asio tech, trinity mobility, monnaie designers, get n dial tech, firstsource etc. The registration almost extended to 10am which was actually planned to be stopped at 9.00 am. Students were allotted pass to companies in counters.
We CCETians were also lucky enough to participate in it.36 studentsof final year from various departments took part in it. The good news is that 4 students from s8 CSE got confirmation, 5 students from the same got into final tech round to be conducted this week. Mr Sivan Ambattu
Sivan Ambattu is an expert in project management and entrepreneurship. He has proven expertise in Strategy Formulation, Donor Management, Partnership Development and in establishing Rural Business Institutions. He brought international training programmes like EYB and SIYB to India. Has worked with multilateral agencies like UNDP, ILO, European Union; DFID, American India Foundation, IKEA Foundation and Rabobank Foundation. His specialization includes value chain development, cluster development, group and women entrepreneurship. He has published one book, 11 manuals and 2 reports.
Mr. Umesh Menon
Mr. Umesh Menon is a Sr. Faculty Member of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and an International Expert for UNIDO, UNDP, World Bank, USAID, DFID and European Union. Umesh is also the Managing Director of Varis Management Services Pvt. Ltd. He is on the Board of Companies in Dubai, Uganda, UK and Mozambique.He has been involved with the setting up of the first private sector Hospital in Mozambique.
Mr. Umesh has been instrumental in setting up many Entrepreneurship Institutions in Asia and Africa to offer Business Development Services to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in those countries. To be specific, Umesh has helped set up Entrepreneurship Centres in Mozambique, Laos, Vietnam, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Uganda. These centres were set up in collaboration with UNIDO and/or Government of India.

Academic co-ordinators have conducted the Constitution Day Celebration in association with NSS to increase awareness about the constitution amongst students.Adv.N.V Sindhu from legal service authority inagurated the event and gave a class on constitution of India.Principal and Dean address the gathering.The preamble of Indian constitution was read loud and it was displayed in the notice board.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by a group of dignified persons - Mr Amit Meena IAS (sub collector Perinthalmanna ). Honourable Principal Dr.Alavikunhu Panthakkan Mr. Jimry Henry(Dean, CCET) and Miss.Amurtha TS HOD Civil Dept). Miss Amurtha TS formally welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais colleagues, guests and students. Muhammed Safvan CI (student , S5 civil , CCET) made audience aware about the significance of Big Constructor's the objectives of starting the company and its activities. Mr. Amit Meena IAS gave motivational and inspiring speach to us. He described and explained the importance of inventory and transportation in today’s world and the company logo and site was inaugurated by our Honourable principal Dr. Alavikunhu Panthakkan.Our project "DREAM COCHIN " was inaugurated by Mr Jimry Henry. Principal and the Dean gave us thoughtfull and inspiring speech. The first Technical magazine of CCET from our Civil department and it was published by Abdul sathar (assistant AO,CCET).And all HOD from each department came and falicitate. Finally the vote of thanks done by Muhammed safvan CI (student ).
A technical seminar was organised by the Civil Engineering Department, in association with Fondazione and Eco club, on 13thnovember at CCET campus. The college library was set up as venue for seminar. The honoured guest Mr. AMAL RAJ M , Assistant Professor, ILDM, Trivandrum, was then called up to address the audience. He take intresterd and informative talk on DISASTER MANAGEMENT. Last ten minutes of the session was given for students to interact with the guest.
The program was ended at 4:30 pm, with vote of thanks by Mr Akhil V Raj, Assistant Professor, CCET valanchery.

Inspired by the theme of International Youth Day “Youth Civic Engagement”, ELabs | Innovations and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, National Service Scheme and Women Development Cell of CCET is organizing My Tree Challenge, an activity involving planting a sapling and challenging others to do so. The challenge was launched in Kerala to promote the preservation of nature. Mammootty launched the campaign by planting the first tree and challenging Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and Tamil actors Vijay and Suriya to do the same.
My Tree Challenge at Cochin College of Engineering and Technology will be inaugurated by
Dr.Alavi Kunhu Panthakkan, Principal, CCET on 12-Aug-2015, 10:00 AM by planting a tree and
challenging all Elabs, NSS and WDC members to do the same at their Home. A portal for posting
